About Christina

I am a servant, and a regular citizen…

God made two genders and He specifically made me a woman.  I’ve been married to my husband and best friend, Chris, for over 22 years. I have been blessed to raise two wonderful children that have become upstanding, tax-paying contributors to society.  As a woman, a wife, and a mother, I have a perspective that is valuable and important in shaping policies and decisions that affect families and communities.

I am a servant.

Throughout my life, I have initiated various projects to support organizations and the community. From creating volunteer programs and reorganizing administrations to raising funds for significant projects, I have successfully identified opportunities where I can apply my talents for the betterment of others. I have always been passionate about serving others, and I believe that my experience in problem-solving and building relationships can be applied in a county government setting to create positive change for the taxpayer and the county employees.

There was a time where I had little interest in politics.  Like many of you, I was appalled at the policies and procedures implemented as our state navigated “unprecedented times” through the restrictions of our Constitutional and natural rights.  In addition, the November 2020 Election left me with so many questions and I had to seek answers.  This time period was the catalyst for my deep dive into Texas politics at the state and local levels.

To the original Founders, I’m just a regular citizen.

The original framers of the Constitution designed a Constitutional Republic with the concept that all governments should derive their powers from the consent of the governed.  I am what some people refer to as a citizen advocate or a political activist, but I would argue that our founding fathers would have just called me a regular citizen. I’ve gotten involved legislatively and through activism on election integrity, border security, property tax reform, state sovereignty, stopping the sexualization of Texas kids, banning sex change operations on minors, and defending gun rights. I serve as a Smith County Republican Party Precinct Chair and was a 2022 State Delegate for the Republican Party of Texas State Convention.  I believe the Republican Party Platform and Legislative Priorities are a true representation of the people’s will. I am proud to have helped construct the ‘’guidebook” for our Legislators and I encourage you to take a look at what it is that the grassroots of Texas want for our state.

Republican Party of Texas Platform

Republican Party of Texas Legislative Priorities

In the 88th session, I spent days and weeks at the Capitol with Committee members of the Senator and House to advocate for some key legislation that addressed our Legislative Priorities. Dismissing the known lackluster character of some of our Texas legislators, we do have steadfast patriots in the halls of the Capitol.  There is never a day spent at our Capitol that you don’t get to collaborate with another organization or another advocate to help them work their issue-specific legislation. I’m always happy to lend a hand for liberty with our fellow patriots.

Citizens First.

I’ve been a leader and advocate for liberty causes for almost 3 years. I am always willing to help many of the conservative political organizations and Republican clubs across Texas. Many times, I have stepped up to lead and organize projects that were new for our area. Last session, I organized coaches to transport our East Texas citizens to the Capitol. Engaging citizens with their elected officials and teaching about the process empowers these individuals and creates a force multiplier. My involvement in election integrity was a source of motivation to recruit and train Poll Watchers for the General Election here in Smith County. Educating citizens on the vulnerabilities we have in our current election system has resulted in more and more volunteers.  This is exactly what we need – a citizenry that is educated on the issues, empowered to act with confidence and engaged with local and state officials to uphold community standards and maintain our Constitutional Republic. We shouldn’t have to monitor progress copiously, but it is required now. For too long, we have been asleep at the wheel.  We have sacrificed precious freedoms for some minor conveniences. It is imperative that citizens be attentive to their governments, both local and state.

There hasn’t been a step of this journey that didn’t involve working alongside the people.  No matter the cause or the call to action, it takes the people to move the needle.  What typically starts off as a new volunteer for a cause, turns into a new friend.  I have been blessed to meet so many wonderful people on this path and together we are stronger!  If Texas state and local politics were not an issue, I would not have had the opportunity to meet these phenomenal people that were compelled to get engaged with their government and take up a cause.  I didn’t get involved because I was looking for friends, but the people that I have had the privilege to connect with are some of the finest friends anyone could have.

We get the government we allow.

The most effective impact you can make on how your government governs, is to get involved locally.  I took a particular interest in Smith County Commissioners Court because I wasn’t a city of Tyler resident.  I live in Smith County and what the county does, directly impacts my wallet or my freedoms.  For 2.5+ years now, I have attended weekly Commissioners Court meetings.  School Board, City Council, Emergency Services District, County Commissioners Court – they all spend your money.  You deserve to know WHY and HOW they are spending the dollars you took great effort in making.  This country began with an educated citizenry that participated in town halls, met at taverns and could expect the Pastor to keep them up to date on government activity.  That’s how they kept government small and taxes low.  And for that reason, I was led to learn and study about the Commissioners Court, their Constitutional role in government and to share what I learned with other citizens.  We can no longer afford ignoring the local taxing authorities.

I am committed to working hard, listening to the concerns of my constituents, and being a voice for those who may not have the opportunity to be heard.  I am the Citizen First candidate and I want to be the guardian of your tax dollars that the county takes from you.  I may not be a politician, but I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work for the betterment of our community.
