Covid-19 Policies & Protocols
CHAMPS LEAGUE EXPOSURE PROTOCOLS (Revised January 17, 2021) The below protocols apply to league requirements in the event of a player receiving a positive test result for COVID-19. In the event that a Champs League participant receives a positive test result for COVID-19:
- Parents and Coaches are asked to report this result to the league commissioner (Ben Hart).
- Each case will be confidentially reviewed by our medical advisory team to determine basic timelines and if close contact was established with others as determined by the CDC.
- In the event league players, coaches, families, or other personnel are determined to have been in close contact (as defined by the CDC) to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, those exposed are asked to refrain from attending Factory of Champions activities for 7 days from the date of exposure (if accompanied by a negative test result and no continuing symptoms on or after the 5th day of exposure) OR 10 days from the date of exposure (without providing a test result AND with NO symptoms since the date of exposure.)
- A league participant who receives a positive test result for COVID-19 may only return to league activities with a signed note from their pediatrician clearing them specifically for indoor youth basketball play.
COVID SAFETY PROCEDURES for CHAMPS LEAGUE PRACTICES
- We are encouraging drop-off for practices, but parents are welcome to attend if they choose. With that in mind, we ask that non-player practice participants be limited to a single parent/guardian and that non-participating siblings are not in attendance
- Mask wearing is welcomed, but not required during league practices.
- Please ensure your child brings their own ball and secure water container. Water fountains will not be available.
- Unless you are a player actively participating in a practice, individuals who have entered Factory of Champions must wear an approved face-covering at all times, no exceptions. Bandanas and single-ply gators are not allowed.
- Coaches must also comply with this requirement, and in the event a coach needs to pull down their mask to be understood, we are asking them to maintain a distance of 6 feet or more from all players.
- Pulling down a mask should always be a temporary action and your mask should be returned to cover mouth and nose.
- We ask those that need to remove a mask for conversations or phone calls please exit the building for these purposes.
COVID SAFETY PROCEDURES for CHAMPS LEAGUE GAMES Below is the list of safety requirements/rules for each game night. All are important, but I’m highlighting the most critical here: As a primary safety precaution throughout the pandemic, we are severely limiting body count in the building (This includes all Factory programs). THIS MEANS THAT FOR LEAGUE NIGHTS, SPECTATOR ATTENDANCE IS LIMITED TO ONE PARENT/GUARDIAN PER PARTICIPATING CHILD EACH GAME. To further clarify, this means no non-participating siblings or other family members. Generally it also means that outside of league staff, Factory of Champions is targeting a total head count of less than 25% of our maximum legal occupancy at any given time. Please plan accordingly. The last thing we want is to deny entry upon arrival to anyone. There are exceptions for coaches and we have communicated those details. Early on I mentioned the possibility of providing a live streaming option to family members who could not attend in person. I continue to work a solution with BallerTV but it will not be available at this time. Here are the rest of our Game Day Policies:
- Doors will open for players and spectators 10 minutes prior to game start, OR upon the complete exit of all players/spectators of the prior game, whichever comes later. Players/Spectators who arrive early will need to wait in cars or outside. Upon the conclusion of your game, we will ask that all players/spectators exit using our two emergency exits along the North wall.
- Water fountains are disabled at this time – please make sure your child brings his/her own water in a secure container.
- Temperature checks will be administered upon entry.
- No outside chairs – spectators are asked to sit in available chairs – we ask that chairs not be moved.
- Unless you are a player actively participating in a game, individuals who have entered Factory of Champions must wear an approved face-covering at all times, no exceptions.
- During games, players may choose to wear masks, but they are not required to wear masks.
- If your child is experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 as outlined by the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html), or is simply not feeling well, please notify your coach and stay home.
- Please always err on the side of caution and notify your coach (or the league commissioner) if your child has potentially been exposed to individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19. I recognize these exposure events are not always easy to interpret perfectly, so please consult your chosen medical professionals for guidance. We’re happy to consult our advisory team as well.
